Encoding Failure

I chose the word Encoding Failure. I chose this word because I want to further understand what it does, and what can be easy to not remember and what can not.

I found this little blog about Encoding Failure http://theneuron.wikifoundry.com/page/Forgetting+%26+Encoding+Failure

This blog tell you basically what encoding failure is, and what it does. This blog tells me that long term memory is never encoded, and that encoding is affected by age. Due to the fact that it is affected by age, this explains to us why the memory declines as you get older. (53) It also tells us that some things that contribute to forgetting is absentmindedness and blocking. (68)  It also tells us that humans are selectively attentive, but we also encode some information automatically. (84) Sometimes we have a hard time remembering things, but we eventually remember them, so that memory is not fully gone.
